About John Parker Motorcycles

John Parker Motorcycles was founded in 1973 when dad ( John) decided he didn't like the new workshop at Essex Police headquarters where he was working at the time as a Motorcycle Mechanic. Mum (Maureen) has run the shop since the early days and I helped in the workshop from being knee high to a C90 ! In fact I used to earn my pocket money repairing customers bicycles ! . I came to work full time when I left school in the Mid 1980's and have been here ever since . Dad died in 1993 and my role in the workshop and shop increased, while Mum continues to serve in the shop (Or at least play cards on the computer !!!!!!!!) and with Geoff our mechanic in the workshop I split my time between the shop and workshop.
As you can see from the pictures we have always been involved in off road motorcycle sport John (and indeed Maureen) competed in trials, motocross and also vintage road racing , while I have ridden trials since I was 7. We are also members of the Vintage Motorcycle club and ride and enjoy Older British bikes. Well that's enough about us , take a look around the website and if you have any queries just drop me a line
